Track Overviews

IT Pro

This track is designed for all the SharePoint Server farm administrators and people who need to understand how all the architecture pieces of SharePoint 2010 fit together. The content will be covering all expects of SharePoint configuration, deployment and scalability in the real world and what decisions you will need to make in a real world environment. For example: ‘How do we setup Kerberos to work all the way to our backend Data Source?’ ‘What is the best way to optimize our SharePoint Content databases?’ ‘What the key design decisions we need to make if moving to the Cloud and how do I do it?’ This track is real world and will lead you on a complete journey on not just the basics but also some of the more complex scenario’s and showing you how not just why. Unique to this track in 2012 is that if a scenario requires more time to show you how then the session could span 2 or 3 sessions in order to give you the full picture and complete configuration story.

Developer

This track is for all the Developers out there who are just starting a SharePoint journey of discovery and for those developers who have been developing for a while and now need to hone their skills to a more advanced level. There is so much that you can do with SharePoint where do you start, and what is the correct way to take a design all the way through to a finished solution deployed live in your production farm. The Developer track in 2012 will be a unique track with a complete 3 day focus on taking a concept all the way through its build, test and deployment process and showing how in the real world what situations a developer can come across and how those situations are troubleshot and resolved. Unlike normal session based conferences this year we plan on expanding on the basic knowledge and going as deep as is needed, so if a topic needs 2 sessions to cover it thoroughly then 2 sessions will be scheduled so you get all the information you need when you go back to the office.

Information Worker (IW) / End User

These tracks are all about how and what we can actually do with SharePoint in the end user world. SharePoint is an immensely powerful collaboration and document management product if everyone is using it to its potential. All too often however we use just use a very small percentage of its capabilities. Come and discover from some of the best experts in the world on how to make the most of the SharePoint end user environment and new for 2012 we are going to be creating a story for certain sessions over the 3 days where we will show you how one SharePoint component can integrate with another to produce amazing rich results for the users. Also new for 2012 is a 3rd IW track so we have added one more track than 2011 as we know how much everyone is keen to see more about what SharePoint can do out of the box when done right.

Business Track

This is a dedicated track for CEO’s, project managers, business analysts, Information architects and key decision makers involved in SharePoint projects. Every successful SharePoint project must start with the right foundation and direction and all too often the business does not have enough involvement with the SharePoint project often due to the lack of understanding of what conversations need to be taking place in the initial design and scope of the project. Come and discover from people who have been their first-hand what sort of considerations and decisions you need to be thinking about as part of your overall SharePoint strategy and how to make it a success. New for 2012 is we are introducing some board room style sessions where multiple speakers will be on the stage and having a real world scenario that will be addressed throughout the sessions in order to give the audience a chance to really see the discussions that can or should (often don’t) take place to help the company make the most of its investment into SharePoint and realise true return of investment over time.
